Mission Statement

Ask Now Texas strives to:

• Provide dedicated, quality online reference services to patrons of participating Texas libraries
• Provide virtual reference to libraries that could otherwise not provide this level of online reference service to their patrons
• Provide virtual reference experience for Texas library information graduate students and professional librarians in Texas

Ask Now Texas is available to students and patrons at:

• Western Texas College in Snyder, TX
• Angelina College in Lufkin, TX
• Odessa College in Odessa, TX
• Vernon College in Vernon, TX
• Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant, TX
• North Central Texas College in Gainesville, TX
• Judy B. McDonald Public Library in Nacogdoches, TX
• Portland Public Library in Portland, TX
• University of Texas Permian Basin
• Available to anyone through AskNowTexas.org

History

Ask Now Texas was founded by Liz Barksdale in March 2007 at Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas and grew to serve more libraries across the state. The Ask Now Texas service is available to public, academic, school and special libraries within Texas. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
